Glen Cove JV

The Glen Cove Junior Varsity is 5-1 in league play and 8-3 overall. Two big wins last week. They beat Great Neck North 61-27 at home and then Valley Stream South away 55-33.

 

The girls are playing well and having a lot of fun! Big game this Friday against league leader Floral Park.

3-2 Zone Principles and Rotations

In a 3-2 zone you must pressure the ball with on-ball perimeter defense. This means closing out on the pass, going over screens, trapping the corners and ball denial, post players should be denying the post entry pass (fronting or 3/4 in the post). Defensive rotation is critical as it is in all zone defenses. This can be a fun defense to play that confuses offenses and leads to steals and breaks.
