Swept the Adidas Classic tournament winning four games against decent comp. GraceAnne played very, very well contributing on both ends of the floor and scoring a quick 8 in the first game. More importantly she played solid defense all weekend without getting herself in foul trouble in any of the four games. I'm encouraging her to play up on her girl and deny the ball rather than laying off and blocking shots on help and recovery as she has a habit of doing. The team has become much better defensively so it shouldn't matter too much if she is a little less available, higher in the post on help. Many times the bigs give TOO MUCH help, doubling the ball in the post unnecessarily, and get burned on the weak-side. This weekend it definitely kept her out of foul trouble. Right now she is at Princeton Overnight Camp. She will be there until Thursday. Stone, Amara and Jourdin went as well. They are staying in a very nice suite and seemed to be having a lot of fun when we left them!...

GraceAnne had one of the most difficult tournaments she has experienced since she began playing AAU basketball this past weekend. Her team did extremely well blowing out two teams, beating a very good Bull Dogs team and losing in the championship game in a back and forth game to the same Bull Dogs team. Grace was really not a factor in any of the games and spent most of the weekend on the bench in foul trouble. She was frustrated and got upset but she has to learn there are going to be tough times and she has to just keep going and work through them. I have a lot of confidence in her skills and abilities at this point and I only wish she had the same confidence. Her mom thinks she hasn't fully recovered from hitting her head a month or so ago and she's probably right. Sometimes you recover physically from something like that right away but it takes some time mentally to get your swagger back. When she gets herself back on track she can look back at these little bumps in the...

Coach Banghart and the 2011 Ivy League Champs! Superstar! This past weekend GraceAnne attended the Princeton Skills Camp. Unfortunately she had to miss the Connecticut Breeze Tournament to do so but her Game7 team did very well winning all four games for the sweep. This is a camp we had signed up for when it was first announced in February, we had blacked out the dates prior to AAU sign-up or scheduling. Still, it was a tough decision to miss the tournament but Grace did not want to miss this camp. GraceAnne had a really good time! She met some very nice kids, got tremendous instruction form coaches Courtney Banghart, Melanie Halker Moore, Milena Flores and Megan Griffith and played a lot of basketball. Got off to a hectic start as Remi and I picked GraceAnne up from school at 3:00 and drove her directly down to Princeton. Hit traffic but made it there for her to begin camp on time... just barely! We decided to relax and stay around to watch for an hour or two. I'm ver...
