Varsity Season Over...

Portledge varsity basketball season is over. After winning the IPPSAL (Independent Private and Parochial Schools Athletic League... hmmm.) championship the Panthers lost to Hackley in the semi finals of the NYSAISAA class C Tournament. (That's the New York State Association of Independent Schools Athletic Association... yeah...). GraceAnne had a good year and a fun time. Scored about 150 pts which is pretty good for a freshman. Playoffs and Spring League

The final will be played on Wed 2/12. All the games got pushed together because of school closings due to snow and it looks like there will be another storm on Thursday. They aren't taking any chances. Grace is also playing in the New York City Housing Authority Citywide Basketball Tournament. She is on an 18u and a 15u team. The games are at the Williamsburg Community Center in Brooklyn so, not too far and very easy to get to. Played very well yesterday in her first two games. Fun, relaxed atmosphere. The girls were all laughing and smiling, having a good time. It will be good for Grace to get two practices a week in...
